I have played both of these Yamaha's and they are both very fine examples of this model tuba.
I believe that both horns had the lead pipe removed from the bell which enhanced resonance and response dramatically. The only difference now being the brighter sound of the silver verses the darker color of the lacquer one. No matter which one you choose, you'll have a wonderful, small BBb, suitable for almost any situation.

Bump. Sincere thanks to the five serious players who will be play-testing these two horns at my home during the next two weeks. Fence-sitters will soon have yet another opportunity to commiserate about "the ones that got away".

This instrument sold yesterday for $4250.
The silver YBB-621S is still available with five declared watchers and (judging by frequency of visits to this listing) about ten anonymous watchers.
