Sold: Rusk-cut F/G-60 Prototype*SOLD*

Hello all,

I have decided to sell my current F tuba. This is my go-to F, but I have decided to look for something different. The horn was built by Bob Rusk and has the easiest low register of any F tuba I've played.

My reason for selling would be to acquire funds for another horn that I feel might better fit the sound I am looking for. I love playing this horn but I cannot necessarily afford a large stable of horns I wouldn't be playing.

I'd be looking to get around $2850 for it. The horn has been cleaned and polished up since I received it. A two-month old (read new) Altieri gig bag, bonnet, and valve cover is included. Shipping would be at buyers expense.

Pictures to come tomorrow morning.

Here is the only picture I have with me. I can post more pictures upon request. Feel free to make me an offer, as well--the worst I can say is no.

Another bump for a great tuba. I really want to move this to make room for a rotary F. Horn was recently looked over and alignment optimized with washers and o-rings (same idea as a PVAK) that really helped to smooth out the valves.

Feel free to make an offer, some interest but no solid offers.

Another bump! Just bought a new F and don't want this to sit around collecting dust because it plays too well for that!

Horn was tested this morning and pleased the player with the ease of the low range. Great low D, C, and Bb! Wasn't quite the right sound for him and (I'll be honest) it did pose some slotting issues in the high range with his Baer MMVI F euro shank.

My American shank Szentpali F works great with it, as did the Bloke-piece solo and symphony with American shank. So, perhaps, if you are an American shank player for your F piece and you want a horn with a killer low range that can provide some breadth of sound, this could be the horn for you!

Horn is still available and I am willing to entertain offers! This would make a great first F tuba or a "one horn to do it all" small tuba!

Is this tuba still available and able to be shipped to Australia?

This horn is currently on hold, but I would be willing to discuss shipping it to Australia at your expense (you will be responsible for any costs associated with packing, shipping, and import/export duties that might arrise).

I will know whether or not the horn will be available for you by the end of the month and can contact you if the current prospective buyer does not purchase it.

This horn is back on the market.

The horn has been play tested by a prominent player for the past week and while he liked much about the horn (the look of the raw brass and its patina, the evenness of playability from top to bottom, and the ease with which the valves and slides move) it just wasn't going to work for the purpose he was hoping to get it for.

Price is still $3000 plus shipping and I am willing to meet up at a reasonable distance to hand the horn off.

Horn is still available and I am open to offers (especially a trade for a flight case for a PT6P or PT10 and cash).
