Cerveny 693 in Connecticut

This is a BBb Cerveny 693 in good condition, with hard case. Serial #81596. The parents of one of my former tuba students bought it from Dillon Music for their son about 15 years ago. He used it during his college years, and the conductors he played under really liked it. Sadly, he has not played tuba since then. The parents are now moving and hope to sell it. It's a large-bore Kaiser tuba, only 37" tall. Bell is 19.7" in diameter, and has a nickel-silver garland. Intonation is much better than most Kaiser tubas. I could live with it if I were taller, but I am only 5'10 and have to sit on a stack of magazines (about an inch and a quarter) to get comfortable with it. I really like its big fat sound, especially in the low register. It has three insignificant dents. The lacquer is in very good condition. A previous owner apparently yanked the mouthpiece upward once, so that the leadpipe is very slightly kinked at the end of the receiver. I don't think that is a problem in terms of sound, and it actually makes the mouthpiece angle more comfortable for those of us who don't like to blow uphill. The instrument is at my house right now, while the parents are moving. If I can't find a buyer they plan to take it back to Dillon's in November. Send me a PM if interested. Asking $3000, willing to consider offers.
