Hello! I am in great need of a durable flight case for my PT-15 F Tuba. I have been accepted into the Peace Corps and plan on taking my instrument with me. Please let me know if you have anything or even a recommendation. I've already been recommended an MTS Vault Series, but was a bit out of my price range. Let me know. Thanks!!!

OK, I am not exactly going to answer your question, but am going to throw something else out there. Why not get a 3 or 4 valve banged up 3/4 size ex school horn, box and pack it up as best as you can, and ship that instead. Leave the PT-15 with a trusted relative. You don't want that nice horn damaged in shipping or stolen from wherever you will be staying. It will still allow you to make music, and you honestly won't need a horn the caliber of the PT-15. Focus on what you will be doing in the PC instead of worrying about an expensive and fragile horn.
Whenever I play with an ensemble for a group of developmentally challenged children, need a tuba to let prospective band students try, or had to tie a horn to the back of my scooter, I would bring my son's old Conn 12 that used to look like a tuba a few decades ago.

Fabulous advise from Marty- you have little to idea if you can keep that horn out of harms way. Buy a beater and not worry about it.
Focus on the take at hand.
Good luck

Don't rely on a flight case, take your normal case and buy the tuba a seat on the plane. That's what I'm doing to get to tuba christmas in Chicago. Call the Airline booking agent directly though.
