On a lark, I recently purchased a contrabass trombone. I need a mouthpiece for it. I've always heard and read that one uses a tuba mouthpiece with these, but this one's receiver is too small. Do you have something that might work?

Josef Klier contrabass trombone mouthpieces from Dillon Music. 3 sizes up to 31mm with 3 different cup depths. Works great in F/Eb contras.

I'm fairly sure the Bach 30CB would work also, it's intended for that application.

The Joseph Klier Kontra mouthpieces work well, and can be ordered with a normal bass trombone sized shank or one slightly larger for some Europeon contras that take a larger mpc. Slide contra trombones are often played by a bass trombone player, and even the largest bass bone mpcs are a bit small in the rim for contra, so the JK contra mpcs in between bass trombone and tuba in rim size. I have a 2A and a 2C, like the 2A better on slide contra and the 2C better on Cimbasso. (with a JK tuba shank adapter) However it seems you want a tuba sized rim. The JK tuba mouthpieces are available with cup depths suitable for contra trombone and cimbasso, and can be ordered with a bass trombone shank, they call it the 12.5mm shank. I have a JK 6D tuba mouthpiece with a bass trombone shank, tuba sized rim, shallow cup, works well on Contra in F, BBb, and Cimbasso. You will probably have to special order, I have gone through Dillons and it takes a few weeks although Dillons has good prices. HTH

Nothing fancy. It's a Jinbao. (First time I've seen an actual Jinbao-branded instrument.)
I've been curious about contrabass trombones for a while, and one popped up for a price that made it worth experimenting with. I don't know that I'll keep it long, but who knows.
