WTB: Vintage Sousaphone

Post by Bob Bigalard »

I need a sousaphone for some marching gigs. I would prefer a Conn or King that is pre-1970. I also would like a Bb or Eb with 4 valves. I would preferably like to pay under $2000 and try before buying (I am located in the Portland, Oregon area).

Would you consider a Martin Medium, vintage 1956, newly cleaned, repaired and de-dented (aka ready to go)?

$1200 plus shipping. It is still at the repair shop, it is scheduled to be done at the end of this month. PM me if interested and I'll send pictures as soon as it is available.

Check the Eugene Craigslist for two horns my group is offering for sale. One is a helicon BBb hybrid put together by one of our former members. The other is a Pan American Eb sousaphone. It's in very good condition. If you're budget is $200, you could have a 4th valve added.
