WTB: 5-valve F tuba, $3000 or less

Hello, all!
I'm going to be in the market soon for a 5-valve F tuba, and I'll have a budget of around $3000. I'm not looking for anything fancy--I'm primarily getting this for teaching purposes, although having a decent playing horn is also a criterion. My main bass tuba now is a Besson 981 Eb tuba, so I'm looking for a small F tuba for the handful of occasions when an F tuba really does do better. I'm particularly looking for any of the old Meinl-Weston 45s or 46s, and for any old B&S horns. Let me know if you've got something that would fit the bill!

Just to clarify... are you looking for a small F tuba or something like a 45/46 or old B&S? The 45/46s are 6/4 and by no means small. Of course, you could be looking for both.
If small is what you are looking for, my Getzen G-60 prototype is within your range and might be available if the guy who's checking it out right now doesn't buy it. PM or e-mail me if you'd be interested (was mainly posting for the clarification above to help get the right horn to you).

Though the 45/46 are 6/4 horns they are smaller then many of the B&S horns. Our school owned 45 is small compared to my PT15 clone. (Which is for sale) (

I think this brings up another good point for clarification: small in terms of physical size or in terms of bore? While the 45 is a smaller/more compact wrap than some others, it has the same bore range as the B&S tubas.
In the cause of helping the OP out, there is a BMB F tuba for sale here:

Are Jb linkage screws still prone to loosening at I opportune moments? Still don't totally trust mine

That Getzen sounds perfect -- under budget, 2 hours away, and not Chinese.
