For Sale: Yamaha BBb Tuba (Model YBB-621S)
This is a four-piston front-action BBb tuba in bright silver finish. I have been told that the low serial number #100120 dates it to the first production run (about 1994). I am the second owner. This has been one of my two quintet horns for the past few years. The instrument has been well maintained. Hetman synthetic lubricants are used throughout. The valves function smoothly and the tuning slides are free. The lead pipe has been raised off the bell, thereby considerably improving the clarity of tone. The silver finish is 100%. There are no dents. There are some minor ripples on the front of bell just above the leadpipe. The hard case has built-in wheels and is in excellent condition. The instrument has a beautiful voice, quick response, easy blow, and excellent presence. I have used it and a YBB-621 (lacquer) for quintet playing for the past few years.
