FS or Trade: Schiller American Heritage BBb Tuba **SOLD**

Hey guys. Long time TubeNet member, first time selling amongst friends (so I'll gladly accept feedback on the setup of my post for future reference).

For sale: Schiller American Heritage BBb Tuba; 4 valve, 3/4 size horn
New/used: Used with regular love-dents from everyday use, but not too many at that
Location: Maryville/Knoxville, TN
Asking $1000 obo; I'd prefer not to ship, but I can (at the buyer's expense) if needed. If a potential buyer is in the general East TN area (within reason, say between Chattanooga and Knoxville) it would also be easy for me to make a short day trip for delivery.

The reason I bought this horn was mainly for its size. A few years of playing and carrying large tubas, along with my body structure being perfectly rotund, I decided it was time to get a horn that wouldn't kill me when I was gigging or going to schools or classes. This horn was perfectly small enough to fit that bill for the time that I needed it.

This horn is very nice in brass quintet and tuba quartet (which it has seen a lot of action in those ensembles), and it even holds up well in a small concert band/wind ensemble. It would be ideal for similar chamber groups and would complement a full tuba ensemble well (on the Contrabass 1 part while the bigger tubas play the Contrabass 2 part).

The reason I feel that it's time for me to part ways with this horn, however, is because I've started performing more and more in bands and an orchestra, and quite frankly I've outgrown this tuba. I do have an Eb that I'm more than happy with to hold me over, but at the very least I'd like to pass this horn on to a better-suited owner and have a little bit of money put back towards a new BBb or even CC horn.

Like any horn that's been used for a while, it does have general wear and tear bumps. The valves move just as freely as they did when I got the tuba. The slides do need lubricated, but I can do that before departure, as well as polishing the horn. It comes with it's original hard wheeled case with the black fabric over it, like most new horns come with straight out of the factory. If you would rather have a gig bag with this tuba and would like to negotiate terms on that instead of the hard case, I do currently carry this horn in an Altieri Gig Bag.

But enough blabbering. I don't have any recordings of me on this tuba, but I do have some basic photos of the tuba. It is just a standard lacquer (some people have told me it looks silver, but I just wanted to clarify). I'll post some pictures below, but will also be willing and able to send more (specific) photos upon request.

I've realized that I forgot to put any specs for the horn. The bell size is 15", the bore is marked (from the retailer) at 0.629,and the horn height is 35" (give or take a minute fraction leaning on the side of 35" rather than 35 1/2")
