For sale is a Martin Medium Sousaphone. This horn was made in 1955. It has not been played for many years. I have had the horn professionally restored. The dents were removed, it was chemically cleaned, new valve buttons and valves alined. The valves are perfect, in like new condition. It comes with the neck and tuning bits. It does not come with a mouthpiece or case. I have a King hard case that could be included for an additional cost. The lacquer finish is about 70%. I am asking $1100. It is located in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. I will ship the horn at purchasers expense.
It weights 26 pounds and the bell is 24 inches in diameter.

Nice horn-
What's the bell diameter?
Can you show a pic of the bell etching?

The horn is still at the repair shop getting the final wipe down. I should have it next week to provide further pictures. My guess on the bell diameter is 24 inches. I will confirm that when I get the horn home. The horn is a BBb.

These are a .687 or so bore just like King. The valve construction is more like York in quality, and the layout & size is like a small Conn, except that 1st crook is an actual slide that you can use.
It is in good deal going toward steal range for that price in good playing shape. IMHO. These are also pretty light, from what I remember.

Bump for a great buy on a sousaphone. The inside diameter for the second valve slide is 0.687 inches. Valves have good compression.

Bump. It's still for sales. My rock bottom price $900. Will ship via greyhound in the US. They want about $100 for shipping. I have a good king case that will work well for shipping it, that I will sell for $200. (I will only sell the case with the horn.) So, you can have it shipped to you for a total of $1200.
It's a very good player. Good intonation, great valves, and a good price.
