FS: Willson comp. Eb tuba - ON HOLD

Post by TheHatTuba »

Hello all,

For sale is a 15" bell Willson compensating Eb tuba. It is a great little tuba that is super easy to play. I am selling it because I don't play Eb enough to stay fluent on it. Included is a sturdy/heavy DEG case.

Asking $3500+Greyhound from Phoenix, AZ.

Here are some pictures. The bell next to it in the third picture is an 18" York monster Eb bell.

Please PM or email any questions/concerns, thanks! :tuba:

Since bloke has only said nice things about this tuba, let me say something negative to balance it out:
It is heavy. :|

Heft aside, this is one of the most fun instruments I have had the privilege to play. It most certainly would not be for sale if it were ~18" shorter in the bugle.

FINALLY posted some pictures.

Plenty of interest, but I think the rarity may be scaring some people off, as many have also requested comparisons to other horns. It is a very unique combo of things, being a comp. 3+1 Eb with a 15" bell, smaller bore and the typical Willson/heavy brass. This makes for a very even horn with a quick response and a bit more "oomph" than a typical 15" bell F tuba. Again, if this horn had the same level of play and was 18" or so shorter, it would definitely not be for sale. :|

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about the horn!

Hi Dan,

What particulars would you like (bore, bell diameter, etc.)? Also, there is a Photobucket link in the first post, but I can email you files if your friend would prefer those.

Sorry... I didn't see the picture link. I'll copy and past your original post and email it to a fellow who was asking me if I knew of a good Eb. I'll still need your name and email address to do that. Please send me an email.

Wish I had the money for this horn.. I'd even make the drive up to phoenix to go get it too! I play a larger Eb primarily anyway so this would be a fun horn to use.
