Hi all-
This old girl is in great shape - ready to play, recently serviced, needs nothing.
Gold wash in the bell is fully intact.
$2,000 + shipping.
I have an SKB hard case I can ship it in and will sell that, if the buyer wishes.

Several folks have asked about the size of this instrument.
This is not a "jumbo" sousaphone, but a much larger size class than a 14K.
Perhaps on the order of a large Conn?
I'm sure there are experts on the board who can provide comparative stats.
I can also provide detailed measurements for anyone who would like them.
cheers-
Jim

Hi Jim,
Can you confirm that it does have the 7-7/8" bell collar AND that it fits in the SKB case? I was under the impression that the Martin Mammoth sousaphones wouldn't fit in any currently manufactured case.
BUMP... That is a truly beautiful horn at a solid price. I've been trying to resurrect one that was beat to heck and I think I'm probably going to end up dumping more money into it than this for an uglier horn! (But it would be great to know if there is a case that would fit).
Thanks,
T. J.

Yes, it definitely has the 7 7/8 collar - just measured.
Yes, it definitely fits into a standard SKB case, but you need to take some of the slides off and wrap them in a towel (that's how it got to me).
It was a little tight, but worked fine.
Yes, she's purty - and at a great price.
Maybe I should send her to you?

Beautiful Mammoth! Where is it located? How are the valves?

Thanks-
She is in Boston.
These nearly 100-year-old valves don't appear to have been replated anytime recently and show wear.
That said, with the right oil (

When pulling slides, there is some compression "pop" when pushing the valves.
