This is my horn that I dropped off at BBC a couple of months ago and it's the second MGS that I've owned over the last 2 years. At the time that I dropped it off, I had 6 tubas and this one was starting to collect dust.

Bob Tucci provided a lot of information on this horn. Of course Meister G. Schneider is a stencil that has been discussed on this forum before but this particular horn is actually based on a five valve "Weltklang" BBb tuba. I have a picture at the link below from an old catalogue that shows the Weltklang tuba and the similarities are obvious.

The MGS CC is very light and has as an incredible low register that really pops. IMHO, I couldn't imagine a better quintet horn. Mr. Tucci also sent me a new receiver that I had installed so this horn should take an American shank now even though I made it work with a Euro shank for a while.

Head on over to BBC and give this horn a try!

Doesn't the third partial tend a little high on these horns? Correct me if I'm wrong.
