Gold Denis Wick 4

Post by jmerring »

I have a gold plated (entirely) Denis Wick 4 (small shank) with a carrying pouch for sale. $55.00 includes shipping to anywhere in the lower 48. It is brand new and has not a mark on it. If you want to see a picture of it (a stock image; mine is EXACTLY the same), I can send it to you. I don't know how to add it to this post.

Deep cup/small shank, Cup diameter 30.5mm, overall diameter 44.28mm, Rim width 6.89mm, bore 8.27mm, medium backbore.

Sample prices

WWBW $84.99 + shipping
Mouthpiece Express: $104.95 (unable to determine shipping inclusion or not)

How would this compare with a Dennis Wick 2?

The specs on the 2 are as follows

Very Deep cup
small shank
32.00mm cup diameter
47.35mm overal diameter
7.33mm rim width
8.45mm bore
backbore - open.

It would be a deeper and narrower mouthpiece.
I was able to use it a little bit (it is too small for my horn) and found that the upper range just pops out clearly (for me). The lower end was not testable (because of the fit).
