Hello.
For sale is my Rudy Meinl 5/4 CC tuba. I acquired it in a trade about a year ago and have grown to love this tuba. The sound is massive but with a complex color quite similar to a PT-6, except a tad more mellow. Five rotary valves, plus a kicker for the second valve that works extremely well. The horn has a very distinct German sound when played forte and louder. The presence of sound is remarkable. Intonation is between good and very good.
The tuba had a full maintenance visit (chem clean, alignment, corks, etc.) in May. Everything is moving quickly and silently. I included a close-up of the main tuning slide to show the condition of the slides - they look great. Lacquer is standard-issue Rudy Meinl. I'd say it's 93% overall, with most of the bare brass showing around high-contact areas like the bottom bow and first valve slide.

I am selling the instrument so that I can buy a smaller CC.
I am asking $8,000.00 for this tuba. I am willing to ship via Greyhound at the buyer's expense, but I would prefer to drive. Horn is located in Central Ohio. Please note that while the case is more than sufficient for shipping and protecting the tuba, you will likely need to purchase a gig bag in order to transport the tuba.
