Conn 56J CC Lacquer - SOLD
Posted: Sun May 22, 2016 3:50 pm
Hello once again TubeNet!
I am selling a Conn 56J CC tuba. 4 piston valves, plus a thumb rotary fifth valve (flat whole step). It's lacquer, with it still near 100% intact.
There are some dents from the previous player, aw heck, maybe one or two from me. It also has flattened a bit around the whole bell from being set down on the bell for so long...not from me! (let this be a lesson to you younger tubists!). You get an idea of what I'm talking about with the pics.

Overall, the tuba plays very well, good intonation with a couple alternative fingerings here and there (3rd valve for the "E" just below the staff...stuff like that). This is a great horn for the junior/senior in high school or entry level/music ed college student. Solid playing tuba, suitable for various ensemble types, low price, etc.
I am including the Altieri gig bag as well. I have some older "Bach 18-like" mouthpieces laying around the house if you need a mouthpiece with it...but the PT-88 is mine.
I'm asking $5000 OBO (down from $5500) for the horn and case. Buyer pays shipping or you can pick up the horn. I'd be willing to drive a little bit to get it to you, that of course depends on my schedule! The horn is located in Defiance, Ohio - that's between Toledo and Fort Wayne, Indiana if you're looking at a map.
Thanks,
