FS: Kalison 5-Valve Daryl Smith CC Tuba w/gig bag (eBay now)

I sadly have decided to part with my beloved Kalison CC. I'm a trumpet player that has an unhealthy love for tuba that needs to reduce the amount of stuff in my life and pay some bills.

Horn in decent condition:
Has a fair amount of dents, but what multiple-owner tuba doesn't (did you ever see the CSO's York before the overhaul?!?). Doesn't bother me a bit because sounds is most important.
Just had some work done to smooth out bell dents and all slides are functional.
Missing thumb ring, but it was that way when I bought it in 2009.
Comes with a Tuba Exchange Reunion Blues soft case.
Thought of asking $5,000 -- because that's what it's worth to me -- but after seeing a used one on The Tuba Exchange for $4,500, I'm asking $4,000.

Can you post a full view pic? I'm spacially challenged and can't visualize the whole tuba.

Thanks!

I did, but it looks like it's not showing up now. I'll fix it once I get back from playing a show....

Thanks for fixing that link issue for me!

Just an FYI, if I don't get enough interest before long, I'll likely put the horn up on eBay. And while you think you may have a shot at getting a better deal, I'm sick of getting a little more or just what I want for the horn, and most of that going in fees to eBay and PayPal. I will not let it go for less to make up for fees, so you best bet is to get it from me here. Even if I could get $4500 on eBay, I just as well take $4,000 here and at least pass the savings onto a fellow tuba lover rather than give that to a company that is doing just fine. 8)

Oh, probably should mention I intend to include shipping in the price for the Lower 48.

Also, I should have mentioned that even though the bell may look a bit small in the first photo, rest assured it's almost 19" :tuba:

FYI, I'll likely be putting the horn up on eBay within the week with a higher reserve and shipping at cost (which will probably be around $150+).

...but first, I listed it on the Tuba/Euphonium group on Facebook. So it may not make it to eBay if you're thinking you may get an chance to have a go at it on there.

Down to the final hours!
There are a lot of people watching this tuba, and several people have messaged with questions and interest. Don't wait until the last moment to try to sneak a bid in if you are serious; you might not win. I know the urge to try to do this to get it at the lowest possible price, but I've missed out on some stuff this way when something -- sometimes a horn -- is more popular than I thought. If you're willing to pay $3,000, $3,500, $4,000, etc., let the software bid for you. I have a local university tuba student that expressed interest in paying my initial asking price $4,500 (I wasn't going to let him pay that much being a local student by the way) for it in a month or so when he has the money, but I likely won't be around, and I'm needing to part with her sooner if possible. He understood my situation and said to put it up on eBay.
Final words: I'd buy this tuba again. I'd buy another Kalison without playing it again too.
