I have for sale a 1927 or 1928 Conn PanAm recording tuba in BBb. The bell is 20 inches in diameter, the total height is 44 inches, and the width is 15 inches. As you can see from the photo bucket pictures attached, it does have a few minor dents and the finish is about 30%. The valves are tarnished but not pitted. All slides work, although the third valve slide is a bit tight. Compression is fair to good since I cleaned the valves*. (*change from original post). No leaks were detected when tested. It has been professionally cleaned and the valves have new felts and corks. It was originally a low pitch, but is has been tuned so it plays in 440. It does take a standard American shank mouthpiece. The bell is removable. It plays very nicely with a great low range voice. I am offering it at $950. (now $800) (now $600) This does not include shipping, a case or a mouthpiece.

I cleaned the valves with the new valve cleaner. Most of the tarnish came off and the compression is greatly improved. There is now a noticeable pop with each valve. This horn has a great sound.

I have added the straight on front and back pictures as suggested. I also added a picture of a pad by the valves for a thumb rest. It kind of looks like a patch, but I don't think it is. I replaced the picture of the valves with one after I cleaned them. I tried to find the worst side of each valve. I put a little time into cleaning and removing some of the tarnish on the silver part of the finish. It looks better than I originally estimated (see new pictures). I think with a more cleaning and polishing, it will look better.

Is the horn still for sale? I'd buy it this week if so.

Pending sale didn't work out because international shipping was outrageously expensive. Back on the market for $550.
