Kalashan's Kleartone Sousaphone

Post by tubatom801 »

I restored a very well played stencil horn. I understand Kalashan's was a NYC music store in the 20's. This is a great old horn... it was pewter grey when I acquired it and had some grass clipping inside. Now it's shiny silver, small dings, but well played... so the finsh is worn through in places. Wondering the value because I'm moving out of the country and can't take it.

That's almost worth it just for the name and the engraving.

Good luck with it. I owned a Kalaschen (different spelling) tuba back in the 80's. Nice tuba that had a 4th valve 2-3 combination.

Looks like an Eb Conn to me.
Very cool engraving.
Good luck!
