This tuba is a 6/4 size tuba and it's really great! The horn includes the cases in good condition. Also a mouth piece and tuning bit. The stand is not included. I've played this tuba at church orchestra and community bands and had a lot of fun with it at home, but I need something a little smaller. If you're looking for a great bass with an awesome sound, this tuba will not disappoint you. It's in great condition and looks fabulous still, even by today's standards. Compare to the Chinese made bell front tuba that's selling for $2,400. This All American just blows it away...

The finish is pretty good for an instrument dating back to about 1970 when Conn made fabulous tubas. No major dents just some minor wear. The intonation is really good. The pistons are in nice shape and the short action makes them very fast. The tuning slides are freshly greased and the tight fit of the slides work nicely, they all move like velvet. The range of this tuba is excellent above and below the staff. It's very-very resonant. You will love the way it plays and the way it fills a room with big deep sound. This is not a "new condition" tuba. New condition 20Js are selling for $2,500 to $2,800 on Ebay and this tuba is priced accordingly. Here on Tubenet prices are somewhat lower.

Description:
The Conn 20J Upright Recording Bass was the Conn Musical Instrument Company's answer to the perfect tuba in the mid-20th century. A concert instrument by design, the 20J produces a deep, sonorous tone. The bore size (diameter of the tubing) is larger than all others tubas created at the time. The horn has a baked enamel finish, making it strong, durable and resonant. This horn plays like a dream...

The 20J has three upright valves and a 24-inch recording style bell. It weighs approximately 55 lbs. Seller Pays shipping within the lower 48 by Greyhound Bus Lines... It'll take me time to get it packed and wrapped and down to the bus station, and if you're in the North East 5 or 6 days for the bus to get up there. If you're in Arizona, well that's fabulous. You can come here or I can meet you... No PayPal on this.
