As some of you have seen from my earlier posts, I will be selling some sousaphones for a friend. The only Eb is the one listed here. I'm a french horn player, so please excuse any glaring terminology errors.
Here's what I know:
York Eb sousaphone serial number 179368
24.5 inch bell, 6 inch collar
Bore - approximately 5/8" measured at point with 3 braces and thumb screw
Valves oiled, slides lubed
Includes 2 tuning bits, mouthpiece attachment tube
Many minor dents nothing with a crease
Playable without any work
Typical E-flat sound
Includes old but unbranded case
3 people estimated private sale value for me. The estimates were:
$500-$700 as is
$800 as is
$800-$1000 with neck dents removed.
For now, I'm not going to pay to get the dents removed to keep the price lower yet give fair value to my friend. So I'd like to offer the sousaphone for $750, as is. With the holiday coming up, I may not be able to answer questions until Saturday, but I'll do it sooner if I can. I'm located in Hershey PA for pickup. If you need it shipped, I'll work with a shipper and charge actual cost.

Re: For Sale: York 3-valve laquered brass Eb Sousaphone
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.
I see that no one has asked any questions. Is there a general lack of interest in Eb sousaphones? Or have I priced it wrong?
Thanks,
Teri

I'd say it's more the former than the latter.
I think your price is good.
For me, when I play sousaphone, I'm the only bass instrument and an Eb just doesn't cut it.
It's a nice looking horn, though. Good luck.

I've gotten 2 offers on the Eb from other sources. If anyone here would like to make an offer, please let me know this weekend.
