Hi!
Helicon for sale ... in the UK (Brighton). I own 3 - 1 is now sold, so the BBb has to move alas.
1) Amati Kraslice 4v BBb Helicon
Amati 4v BBb Helicon (Helikon) with gig bag! (similar to the Cerveny templates) Made in around 1985. Bell Diameter: 45cm. Bore: 19mm. Height: 104cm. Refurb'ed in 2012. Serial 51278.
A beautiful horn, all in good working order - body work is in very decent shape for the age - a few dings, but nothing on essential slides. Plays well - huge, direct sound. Just had a good cleaning. You can polish these horns, but there is little point as they return to raw brass colour within days of polishing. You can restore these horns, or replace valves etc, but becomes really costly - and they work fine as is. Cost vs quality is excellent on these horns - you need to spend double to get something better or a newer Cerveny. You can convert the valves to the Mini-ball system, but I've never bothered.
Comes with sexy Scout-chic fabric gig bag (unpadded, but protection against elements). I can get a good quality gig bag sorted, but they're €300 or so.
Perfect on any stage - much more punch than a Sousa : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqhECoGpV5M" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank
PRICE : £1200 - or make me an offer!
PHOTOS: mail me!
Any questions please just shout - always happy to geek out about helicons (or helikons if you prefer). Happy to ship wherever, or meet in Brighton or London.
Cheers,
Bruce
