Early next week I will have an older 2165 6/4 4p/1r CC tuba for sale. It will be priced to sell. Have seen but not played yet. Just thought I'd whet the appetite of BAT lusting tubenetters in advance. Lacquer in rough shape,no case or bag. Will have serviced and post something next week. Thinking between 5-6k depending on how it turns out- for a real German BAT designed by the great Warren Deck. What a deal!

I got the horn this morning. Small valve with tone ring installed. Plays fine. Good valves. 5-6 significant dents that shouldn't require disassembly to remove. Needs a bath. Plays fine. No case or bag. Looking for offers north of 6k. Hoping someone will drive to montgomery,al and take it home with. I still don't know how to post pics. Send me your cell or email if you are interested or if a friend knows how to post, that would be appreciated :tuba:

No thanks on a trade. Pretty content with the small stable at present.

A fair amount of interest but no buyer yet. It's in line at the shop for servicing and dent work. I'd prefer not to ship out for trials. If no buyer in next couple weeks, I will probably just send to Mr. Fedderly. I expect the price will be closer to 7k then.

This is a steal! Also the smaller valves are superior to the big valves. Mike is a good judge of horns too.

I don't know if smaller valves are actually better, but they CAN be played by somebody who has smaller and/or 'old' hands, such as myself. I literally can not play all five valves on a 'large valve' set-up.

Let me lower expectations a bit. The pic of entire horn on grass makes it look a little shinier than it really is, more like the close up pics of dents. Second, this is the only one of these I've ever played. It does have a few notes at top of staff that are a bit hard to focus. I understand this is typical of the model. Keep in mind it's priced around 1/4 of a new Baer, the current 6/4 offering of the manufacturer. I really don't want an unhappy buyer because it doesn't play like a Thor or Eastman. But, if you want huge, there's no replacement for displacement :tuba:

Ha! I have both a 2165 and a thor! I love then both but I rather use the 2165 in my orchestra because it lets me produce sound in an easier way! yeah sure the thor is easier to play in terms of agility but in the orchestra I find the Warren Horn more suitable for the job. I dont find these instrumetns hard to play at all they are just different with different tunning tendencies the only thing you need is to practice and know where to put the notes!
Great Oportunity do not miss it!

A few people have asked my bottom line price. I'd like to net 5500. If it lasts long enough to make it through the shop, add 300. If you want it shipped, add 100-300 depending on method. If you want to PayPal/credit card, add those fees. If you want to drive to montgomery, try, buy with cash, buy me a beer and talk tuba a few minutes, subtract 250.
