Selling my Schiller Chinese 5-valve rotary silver C tuba, a copy of Miaphone 186. I bought this a couple of years ago to bridge the gap between ownership of actual Miraphone tubas. I was expecting to use this for 6 months but logistics got complicated and I've now used it with several pro orchestras on Tchaik 4 and 6, Neilsen Inextinguishable, Rachmoninov symphonies and operas, Britten, etc., and it's been appreciated by brass and string sections across the board. I'm selling because logistics have simplified so that I have now finally purchased a Miraphone C tuba once again. I've had some mods done, including installing a rock-solid third valve pull ring. I also played this tuba in the interviews for the one-year and tenure-track positions at UT.
Altieri gig bag is used and comes with the tuba.
MTS hard case fits this tuba and 186's great. I used it to fly to perform with the New Mexico Philharmonic several times last year. It was great protection for the tuba and is still in excellent condition.
