Greetings all,

It is with a very heavy heart that I am putting my Gnagey CC tuba up for sale. This horn has quite a performing history, having been played throughout the United States and in China. I have performed on this instrument with numerous orchestras including (but not limited to) the Toledo, Columbus, Mansfield, Lima, Springfield, Kentucky and Hamilton-Fairfield Symphonies. I used it with Keith Brion's New Sousa Band for a number of tours including China. It has been to Blue Lake with me and in numerous other ensembles over the years. I got this while I was teaching at Bowling Green State University and have loved it ever since.

My life is heading in a new direction and I need to cover some bills so the time has come to part ways. I am asking $4,000, and will include the gig bag and a hard case I got from Sam Gnagey to fly the horn to China. It is not a true flight case but served wonderfully on that trip and is still in great shape.

I am willing to drive the horn a great distance to the right new owner. Contact me if you are interested and we can see what will work out. I can also look into shipping via Greyhound or other options but that would be at the expense of the buyer. I am including a couple pictures below and can send more if requested. You can contact me at tubaman246@aol.com" target="_blank" target="_blank.

Many thanks for your time and interest.....

Tim

A great one of Sam's early creations. Pretty much a twin to mine -- and Tim, let me know if you ever want to borrow mine. Image

bump for Tim!

I really enjoyed and often miss the Gnagey I had - used in everything from quintets through Burning River Brass in concert and recording and orchestra work - even played Meistersinger with CSO on it

York Monster Eb bell and bottom bow... King 2341 valve cluster cut to CC.... custom 5th valve and leadpipe.... I also had the horn gone over by Gary Dafler.... He adjusted valve porting, put in spring silencers, nylon valve guides, a few other minor things....

Considering a recent creation from Mr. Gnagey went for $8,000.00 w/o a case, this one with a case at the price he's asking is ridiculous. I can't believe someone hasn't snapped it up at even the original asking price! (Sorry, Tim, I'm aiming at getting another Eb at this time and my 1291 is doing all the heavy lifting...)

Greetings all,

My financial situation has gotten dire and I need to move this horn. I have dropped the price to $4,000 but feasibly cannot go any lower. Please contact me if you have any questions.
