B&S PT-5
$4500
Ann Arbor, MI area

I purchased this horn in 1988 from Custom Music. Beautiful, deep rich dark sound fantastic in orchestral settings, but surprisingly good in small ensemble playing, especially quintets.

The horn has not been played for some time. Valves are all in top notch condition. There are scattered dents on the horn from years of playing and travel. The price reflects having to take the horn in to have the dents removed. See pictures as I've tried to capture them.

Please contact me if you have any questions.

Thank you.

As an owner of a PT5 from this era, I'll echo the sentiment that these are nice sounding horns! This model is the predecessor to the modern PT6, and is a bit smaller at the top and bottom bows, but has the same graduated bore valve section.

Good luck on the sale!

Nice tuba, and you have a reasonable price on it. :tuba:

The PT-5 is the leaner, prototype-predecessor to the common/production PT-6.

There seem to be not many PT-5 tubas floating around, and they are all different. The PT-5 (and it's variations) intrigue me. I'd prolly pick this over
a PT-6.

Have to agree with all that has been said. I have a PT-5P and it is a great instrument. I set mine next to a PT-6P and there were not many differences. They are fantastic horns.
