Hey guys. I don't usually post anything other than tubas on here but I figured I would throw this out there since it's an outstanding instrument.

I have a 1945 King Zephyr Alto Saxophone for sale.
It is in great shape. I just had it checked out by a reputable tech and it all checks out good. All of the pads seal off nice and have no holes from rot or bugs. The linkages are straight and alighned well. The action is very smooth and quiet. The finish is excellent. It is the original laquer and has a nice deep look to it with no missing finish. There is only one small dent in the neck. The bottom is not smashed or scratched from drops or chairs. It also has the original hard case, King mouthpiece and a chain style strap.

This sax is a great instrument that could be at home in any group. It has a very nice deep sound with very little edge and plays extremely well. The pitches center and are very stable. I'm not much of a saxophone player but I can still produce a beautiful sound and play this saxophone better than any other that I have ever tryed.

The asking price is $900 plus shipping. I will also take reasonable offers. This is a beautiful instrument that really needs to see more use than I provide.

For what it's worth, my tenor and baritone saxophones are King Zephyrs. They made this line from the '30s up to (I think) the '60s. They're all excellent instruments, but this is in the middle of the span where they're in their prime - improved a little from the first generations and still the top of the King line. (Later, the Super 20 took over there, though for most people there was never much difference between the Zephyr and Super 20 lines.)
