SOLD: Willson 2975S

Post by LowBrassNYC »

For sale is my Willson 2975S Euphonium. This fully compensating and rare instrument features 4 in-line piston valves that are front action like a tuba and unlike the traditional British setup. The instrument plays incredibly well and plays better in tune that most other Willsons I have owned and played. It has the same smaller bell as a 2900 and has the same singing characteristics in a more ergonomic set up. While it's an excellent option for any Euphonium player, it is also a perfect professional doubling instrument for Tuba players (Bydlo is like butter). The horn has a couple eraser size dings and is in excellent shape. Large bore receiver. Black wooden case in great condition is included.

These instruments(originally designed for the Canadian Brass) are absolute no brainers for doubling tuba players. They have fantastic pitch with the main tuning slide right in you left hand for small adjustments. I used one for a couple orchestra concerts including Don Quioxte. Worked great! Cheers

I think Baltimore Brass just sold one of these same instruments... for about $5,500. Based on that, this seems like a good price!
