Bought this last fall with the thoughts of having the valves done and using it on a regular basis. I have used it in many quintet gigs and community band since then. I have decided to go with a miraphone 185 for my gigs needing a smaller horn and stay with 'big horn' fingerings at this point in my life.
The horn plays well overall, but it could surely use a valve job. The Bb, A, Ab below the staff take a bit to center, but are useable (you can feel the air leaks on these) below that and the rest of the way up, BEAUTIFUL.... The horn plays VERY well in tune. I used a Laskey 30 C, and the high range was killer, but the lower notes were hard to slot. Switched back to my Schilke HII, and no problems...
Again, please understand if you are interested, this is a good horn you can use right now, but needs TLC to be an awesome Eb. At this price, no trials, you either trust me or not...
It will be what is advertised. Comes with Guard Eb bag.
