Rudy 3/4 cc

Post by Matthew Gaunt »

Vintage Rudy Meinl 3/4 cc. Excellent condition with typical lacquer wear. Great sound. Can play e open. Top space g high but lipable or great with 1 and 2. Smooth quiet valves with new miniball conversion by Dana Hofer. I have used it in concerts and recording with Burning River Brass, Chicago Chamber Musicians as well as extra/sub work with Chicago Symphony, Lyric Opera, and Milwaukee. $7,000 with bag - please email for pics. Located in Chicago. Shipping at buyers expense...

Rudys are great. I have played or owned the lineup: 3/4 to 5/4

Bump for Matt! That top space G is typically sharp on ALL 3/4 Rudy CC tubas. Just like Matt said, lip down a bit or play it spot on with 1 and 2. (I've been playing 3/4 Rudy CC tubas since 1997.)

Great price, too!

Bump for Matt. I owned this horn for a few years and I have to say this is the best 3/4 Rudy I've played. Really a great all around horn. Great horn, great price, great guy.

Just spent some time tonight at Matt's house playing this tuba (again) and it's hard to put down. So much core and color to the sound. The valves are some of the best ever with Dana Hofer's custom unibal upgrade.

I've heard Matt and Andy both use this horn in various settings and it produces one of the most desirable sounds.

This is one of the really great Rudy 3/4 CC's!!

Hi,

Is this instrument still for sale? I'm interested in seeing pics. I would send an email, but I cannot find an email address for you.

Thanks,
Steve
