FS: 6/4 Holton 345 CC tuba ***SOLD***

Postby CC » Tue Sep 05, 2017 5:15 pm

***Horn is Sold. Thanks!***

6/4 Holton 345 CC tuba. 4 valve, uncut and original but has had some slight reorganizing I suspect because of an experiment to arrange the tubing in a more sensible way and has had the leadpipe updated. It's in very good condition with a nice patina. This one has a lot of zip to the sound and the intonation is very good; the 5th and 6th partials are right on the money (the E in the staff can easily be played open) but the standard tendency of the G at the bottom of the staff is low and really needs to be played 13, it can be "lipped up" though.

Included is a chocolate brown leather Cronkhite bag..

$8150 + shipping
Horn is located in Nashville, TN.

If interested PM directly or email me at chris[dot]combest[at]gmail[dot]com

Thanks for the interest!

I posted one in the Feedback section with a list of smilies I though would be good to add to our palette... Image
In the multiverse there is a TubeNet where we talk about how we greased our cat with toothpaste and hot sauce so it would fly better in the rain. Even then someone would ask whether the cat was lacquered or silver plated.

Chris, I love the Kurath F you sold me. I would buy this in a heartbeat if I had the cash. I am dying to get a factory CC 345. I love my cut 345, but I really want the top bow and inner branches that were made by Holton to be in C. I envy whomever purchases this tuba.

Good luck! BUMP!
