CC Holton 345 $5500 OBO

Postby joshealejo » Wed Oct 04, 2017 7:02 pm

Hello dear friends!

I am selling my raw brass CC Holton 345. This tuba was made by Holton parts long time ago.

Holton 6/4
4 pistons and 1 rotor
Height: 94cm / 37inch
Bell: 54cm / 21 inches
Bore: 1.93cm / 0.756 inches
The bell is Kanstul.

The 4 pistons are vented and I putted the Yamaha euphonium springs on It, so the action is really light, I also feel that the pistons are more shoter action than, the Meinl Weston pistons I have tryed. The slides has been aligned.

No mayor dents, but some little over the body (I can send better pictures from if requiered)

Tuba plays great, very broad big sound, low register sounds like a sub woofer but It is not easy to overblow. I have been told that sound is very comparable to MW 2165, but as I have never tested one, I can not assure that statement but yes, IT SOUNDS BIG. Intonation is like other tubas of this size, requieres some pulling but nothing you can not resolve.

Tuba is located in Peru, but It will be delivered to Florida in january 2018 first or second week(still need to figure that) AT NO EXTRA COST, after that I can make It to be shipped by Greyhound at buyers expense and risk, or you can come to Florida.

Price for HOLTON 345 and Wilson Flight (excelent shape)case is 5500 USD OBO. PM or email me(better) at verita30_11(at)yahoo(dot)es

A quick bump for my friend in Peru -- great looking tuba! That detachable bell seems like a nice convenience on a tuba of this size!
