FS/FT Conn Frankentuba $1500 (Traded)

Post by mcdctuba2014 »

I have a Conn BBb Frankentuba that was built by Art Hovey out of a Conn upright tuba and some Conn sousaphone valves. It's a massive horn with a 22" bell and 4 front action valves and it has served me great so far. Cash only, $1200 obo. Located in Florence, AL.

This is the tuba on Art Hovey's website. I have can give more pictures upon request.

*UPDATE*
I'll also cosider trading for an older pickup truck if you happen to have one you'd part with (no Dodges please.)

Intonation is really decent for a frankentuba. I've never had any issues with it on that front. I just don't play it anymore. As for the CC, I'm looking for anything 4/4 or bigger, 5 valves preferred, valve type doesn't matter.

The first 3 valves are from a 3 valve cluster and the 4th valve was made from a separate valve from another horn. It's a little farther out from the other 3 but the hand position is actually quite natural, at least for me. As for bore, not entirely sure.

Light!

The craigslist link appears to be broken, probably expired. One of the images:
