I have a Conn BBb Frankentuba that was built by Art Hovey out of a Conn upright tuba and some Conn sousaphone valves. It's a massive horn with a 22" bell and 4 front action valves and it has served me great so far. Cash only, $1200 obo. Located in Florence, AL.
This is the tuba on Art Hovey's website. I have can give more pictures upon request. http://www.galvanizedjazz.com/tuba/BigConn.html" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank
Intonation is really decent for a frankentuba. I've never had any issues with it on that front. I just don't play it anymore. As for the CC, I'm looking for anything 4/4 or bigger, 5 valves preferred, valve type doesn't matter.
The first 3 valves are from a 3 valve cluster and the 4th valve was made from a separate valve from another horn. It's a little farther out from the other 3 but the hand position is actually quite natural, at least for me. As for bore, not entirely sure.
