FT/FS 6/4 5V Cerveny 691 CC for 4p 1r Eb/F tuba $6000

Postby DouglasJB » Fri Feb 23, 2018 10:51 am

Last night carrying my F tuba to the car (no case with this horn) I fell and fell on top of the horn. It is mangled... 1 rotor is dented in, bell has DEEP folds in it, 3 or 4 snapped braces, Leadpipe is split in 2 places, all inner tubing is pushed out of alignment, bottom bow is crushed... it's not looking good... I use F tuba for 95% of what I do so I need to replace it. I am putting my 6/4 CC tuba up for trade for a 4p 1r Bass tuba.

Have a 6/4 CC is awesome, BUT since I graduated I have not been playing nearly as much and the playing I am doing a smaller horn would do great.

This is an older Cerveny 691 that started life as a 4V horn, as some point in time Lee Stopher overhauled and added a 5th to the horn (if all this work was done you know it's a "GOOD" one) the bugle is roughly the same size as a York Style 6/4. The bore on this horn is 21.5. The tuning on this horn is great for me, I have to pull 1st slide for D and F in the staff.

The horn is located in Clarksville

Price dropped to $6K

Oh wow, I remember talking to Lee about this tuba back in... 2010?... when he was starting to work on it. MASSIVE, but compactly wrapped tuba.

What's the bell diameter on this monster?
Something big, coming soon...!

What would be your price if you just wanted to outright sell it?

WOW that's a lot of tuba. I would offer you up my 2145 but something tells me the MW large valve block is exactly what you're looking to avoid :(

Any interest in a 5V Miraphone CC291 Bruckner? Rotary Valves, Gold Brass, purchased last year and I am the only owner.
