Yamaha YFB-822S F Tuba
$9,000 sale price -reduced 6/18/18
Located in Mobile, AL

This horn speaks for itself. It is, and has been a very popular model for players for all-around use. Wonderful for quintet, solo, and band/orchestra work. This particular horn was chosen from a batch at the Yamaha factory in Grand Rapids by the master, Chester Schmitz, during the time he served as clinician for them. He used it now and then to solo and give classes.

Personally still in love with this axe but needing to find it a new home to make room for another in mine.

Other players of this model include but not limited to Jim Self, Carol Jantsch, John Manning, Skip Gray, and Charles Villarrubia.

Includes hard case.

If desired, I’ll include the PT-40S gold plated ($200 value). This mouthpiece is described as the “German Orchestral F-Tuba Sound”. The “S” shank of the Tucci line fits the 822 most perfectly. Here’s a note from Bob Tucci, himself: “The Yamaha 822 is the "CC-tuba in the Key of F" as you know, a rather amazing instrument. The "40" will explode your instrument - let us say, be even more resonant with that mouthpiece.”

Chemical cleaned and hand polished 5/28/18. Annually cleaned at Andy’s Music since purchased four years ago. Minor scratches in finish, primarily on back of bell from shirt buttons - probably could be buffed out, and bottom bow from chair. Couple fingernail sized dents - tried to picture. Dime sized dent in bell but had rolled out. No major issues whatsoever. She’s still in primo condition.
