Sorry - I don’t know how to delete.

I thought this would be my forever horn (until I bought a Martin handcraft). So this horn gets released to the next thrill seeker in line.

It's a ~1907 Boosey and Co. "Solbron" compensating 4 valve (top action piston) tuba. The 4th valve has limited life remaining - helped along with some thicker valve oil. 1-3 are looking good still. It's a big horn, but not too big. (I think it's got an 18'' bell, and is about 34'' tall). No case or MP. Seems like it might need a slightly smaller shank mouthpiece. (I haven't tried my schilke 60 MP on it)

All I know about it's value is what I paid for it, and what I've got in it. So I've listed at $1600 - will ship CONUS. Located near Minneapolis, Minnesota. Price is negotiable - tell me what seems fair.

When did Boosey quit making comp 4-valves up and went to the 3+1, or were they manufactured simultaneously to a particular date?

Slots well in mid and upper ranges. Low range takes better chops than what I have to fill the horn. (It’s not a 3/4 sized yammy). A little bit of slide pulling is needed for common problem notes - low D, and a little on G. I just pull third out a little and leave it.
