Hi All,
I am selling a CC 4/4 B & S similar to a model 3097 5 rotary valve horn. This is an excellent "go to" horn, especially for quintets, and would be great for college students looking to buy their first horn, or anyone looking to increase their collection. It is very versatile and responsive, and has been great in orchestras, quintets, concert bands, and other chamber groups. Price is $5000 OBO, including an Altieri soft case. Send me a message if you are interested. The horn is in Northern California. I am driving across the country to NY in August, so I could possibly meet somewhere if you are super interested! Bell diameter: 16.5 inches. Length: 35.5 inches.

I believe it is a PT-3. It's not marked as a PT though.

Price went up?
Also, I'm not sure the PT3 was really a precursor to the PT6... the 6 is far larger, and the 3 used an F tuba bell. Kind of a bridge the gap between F tuba and large CC tubas, this was intended to be, I believe, their answer to Piggy style tubas. The 3 ans 6 both have the same valve block, though.
Either way, the PT3 is a solid tuba, and I like it a lot. Not too big, but puts out a fair amount of sound. I used one for several years in college, and thought it worked well, especially in a section with a larger tuba.

Yea, I was interested in the horn until I had saw the price went up. Not the best business practices. This isn't eBay was my reply email. But good luck to him and the future owner.

Looks like it is a PT5, I had one for many years. They didn't make too many of them and they look very much like a PT6.
