1985 Hirsbrunner HB-2P - SOLD

Post by bberlien »

Hirsbrunner HB-2P
Includes the original hard case and a very old Reunion Blues gig bag.

This is one of the top two HB-2Ps I have ever played. I would put this up against any other HB-2P, with no reservations (I've played at least 10 of these over the years).

The horn was handmade in 1985 and is one of a handful of the HB-2Ps that have the 5th rotor before the 1st valve. This instrument is sometimes referred to as one of the "prototypes" of this model, but Peter Hirsbrunner Jr. considers it an early version (I have confirmed this with him).

I am selling this instrument for the widow of a friend. I recently had it ultrasonically cleaned, and David Fedderly sold me new felts for the valves. The instrument is in very good shape, and has only been transported in the hard case for the last 15 years.

I'm asking $10,500 plus buyer pays shipping (I have a tuba box from Baltimore Brass that I will use). The instrument is currently located in Seattle, WA.
