Hirsbrunner HB-2 CC Tuba For Sale (Price Drop) $8,800

Postby Stephen Shoop » Sat Jul 28, 2018 8:31 pm

I have decided to part with my Hirsbrunner HB-2 CC (five valve- rotary) tuba. The instrument was built in 1977 and comes with hard case and Altieri gig bag. I have owned the tuba since 1986. Dennis Houghton lapped the valves (composite) a number of years ago and I have had no trouble with them since. The horn, case, and bag are in excellent playing and cosmetic condition.

I prefer local sale but would be willing to travel a reasonable distance to meet potential buyers. I am reluctant to ship but doing so is not completely out of the question. Pictures are available upon request. New price is $8,800 (plus shipping).

Hey Steve, for a local pickup, you should list your location....

Yes, I know your location is Dallas, but still...

I was on my way home through Ennis on the 29th. Wish I had read this before I started back. I'd have traded you lunch and beverages for a honk on it. Good luck with the sale!!! TTT

You might enjoy playing on my 1920s era BBb/CC rotary Conn.

I want to hear about that! I agonized about that tuba, and eventually decided against it. I can't remember why, exactly... but I just hoped that it would end up in good hands. Great that it's ended up with someone who is far better of a player than I will ever be!

Brett: I believe I still have your email address. I'll send you pictures and what I know about the tuba. (Also, what I've learned from playing on it). I believe the horn has excellent potential. My interest in this rotary Conn is based on my intrigue with early tuba players and their equipment.... especially Fred Geib.
