For sale: Kanstul model 90 and Cerveny 653

Postby ChrisDodson » Mon Aug 13, 2018 2:20 pm

Kanstul $6,000
I would say in Excellent condition
4/4 CC 4+1
Medium sized dent on bottom bow
Some lacquer wear but nothing major
Plays great and the valves are super light
Cerveny
3/4 F 4+1 $2,000
On the better side of good condition
Some small dents, lacquer wear, and some leftover tape residue from tuba Christmas.
Lead pipe was bent when it was shipped to me but I think it’s easier to play this way. That is just my opinion though.

I will not ship, but I live outside Knoxville, TN and will drive up to Two hours in any direction to sell.
I will take 7,500 if you buy both.
If you would like more information please ask.
Bags are included
I no longer play and want to go back to school, I’m selling to hopefully find that.

I'm surprised the Cerveny hasn't been sold yet

Wow! I knew Cerveny went back a ways, but I thought this was a relatively new model - received with considerable enthusiasm too, the way I remember it. I looked up the historical context, and apparently that would have been during the reign of Samo, a Frank who came to the area as a merchant and ended up uniting the Slavs against other groups that had been giving them a rough time, and in the end also held off the Franks under Dagobert. He was good for maintaining trade relations, though, which must have helped the tuba business, as the Franks, Anglo-Saxons, Lombards etc. must have had a steady demand for them.

About 8 years old. I remember when he bought this, which was around when I owned mine.
