1934 Martin Mammoth BBb+ 2 bells+ 2 cases for $3000.00

Post by tubazach07 »

Up for sale is a awesome 6/4 1934 Martin Mammoth BBb tuba. These American beauties are known for their beautiful sound.

The tuba was given a ultrasonic cleaning, most the dents taken out, valves aligned about 2 years ago. The valve compression is good and there are no leaks. There is discoloration on the valves but that was due to the previous owners letting the tuba sit for a long time. I have used this tuba professionally in out door and indoor concerts and I have no problem being heard. Intonation is spot on and it’s the easiest blowing 6/4 tuba I have ever played. The reason why I am selling it is I am getting stationed in Japan in December and the Military housing there is really small. My family and I don’t have space and I don’t want to risk the tuba being damaged in shipping. I also suffer from a back injury and this tuba is just to heavy for me.

The tuba comes with a forward facing bell(not pictured), a Kanstul reproduction upright bell( used for 3 concerts), a body and one bell hard case(not pictured), and a altierie soft case with both upright and forward facing bell protector.

I will not ship this tuba but I am willing to drive. The price is $3,200.00 and is negotiable but honestly I cant go below 3 grand. I have over $4,000.00 into this tuba so $3200.00 is a steal.

Bort,
Yes I was and the one who bought the Stofer CB50 and it was the best purchase I have ever made. The tuba is by far the easiest playing tuba I have ever played plus it is light weight. I wish I had that tuba 10 years ago.

Willing to trade for a 3 or 4 valve top action York 33 BBb tuba in similar condition to my Martin in that it has no leaks, body is good condition(missing plating or lacquer is fine), valves have good compression and I can use it on a gig.
