Pair of 20Js

These are a pair of Conn 20Js that I'm listing here for the father of a former student of mine. These horns are in pristine condition. He acquired them from his high school and sent them back to Conn for overhaul work when factories still offered that service and pretty much set them aside. They come with cases, stands and custom made dust covers. He's asking $3000 for each or will sell them for $5500 for the matched pair. I have no interest in the deal except helping an old friend (82 year-old) who's in a pinch due to his wife's long battle with Parkinson's. Contact me via PM or email if interested.

You might try contacting Ken Bodiford, director of bands at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama. They march with 20Js and I think are always looking for horns.

Yup, the only brass 20J we had at JSU when I marched was only used in rehearsal if someone's horn was in the shop. We all referred to it as the "Bastard" horn.

I was marching the first year they applied the paint - weeping and gnashing of teeth. Fortunately, I don't think they kept painting them after they continued acquiring horns that were original silver finish, even if the finish wasn't great (although I could be wrong).
