Asking for a friend about his Marzan

Post by Steve Marcus »

What would be a fair asking price for a lacquer 3-piston valve (not slanted) BBb Marzan in very good condition? In other words, if you were selling this tuba, how much would you accept for it?

The horn dates from the early 1960s and has been in storage most of that time. 20” bell, 38” height, 18” width.
This is a private sale by an individual; no connection with Wessex.

I've never seen a three-piston Marzan, either. I would think it would be worth between $300 and $600 depending on condition.

Thanks for your comments and interest in the Marzan. Unfortunately, its owner has taken the tuba off the market.
