For Sale: Hirsbrunner HB6, 5-valve, 5/4 tuba. Pristine condition. Plating 99.9%. Bought from Floyd Cooley in 1981. I think mid-70s vintage. Improvements by Hirsbrunner in Sumiswald late 1980s, and recently tidied up by Bill Myers of St Louis Woodwind and Brass. A beautiful horn I have loved playing. Including hard case and gig bag. US$13,000. Located in St. Louis.

The instrument can be heard on all Hong Kong Philharmonic releases from 1980 till the mid 90s (and beyond in various repackaging guises.) A couple I like are here:

More recently, low tuba here with the St. Louis Symphony: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JldCgnW9PIs"
