*SOLD* Silver Wessex TB480H Viverna 5/4 5-Valve BBb Tuba

Post by Ltrain »

New copy to accurately capture all the details and updates since my first listing which underwent a lot of changes. Still selling simply to fund my new Eb tuba. $3795 plus shipping OBO. Located in Brooklyn, NY.

This tuba is in what I call "showroom new" condition with only the most minimal signs of use (typical faint marks on contact points), but would pass for new in a store.

HUGE sound, easy blowing with superior intonation. Before packing it up I blew through some notes to remind myself how dead-on this thing is. Even the “D” I had mentioned earlier hit right on the zero when I switched to my Helleberg cup, which is not a setup I normally use. The point is, with the right mouthpiece combo, this becomes a stupid-easy-to-play tuba. The 4th and 5th valve notes are particularly open, which is an uncommon delight.

Wessex calls this a 4/4 but many consider it a 5/4 because the bore and bugle are based on other proportionally large, yet compact horns. This particular horn was hand-picked from 2 high-grade models that I play-tested directly from Wessex. This model in silver sells new for $5,245. The “H” in the model number stands for for “High-Grade” to denote Wessex’s recent production upgrade investment.

Included: factory hardshell case, new Wessex mouthpiece, lubes, and “case candy.”

FEDEX shipping available to anywhere in the continental US. PM me for a quote.

*I’m currently funemployed and willing to drive up to 2.5 hours to meet a serious buyer in the NYC tristate area, or PA.

Trying a new pricing strategy...

I'll cover shipping anywhere in the US-48.

And I'll throw in the gig bag for anyone who picks up locally.
