Beautiful tuba!
About 10-15 years ago, this was my dream tuba. But... my sound concept changed. These do NOT come around very often and are VERY nice tubas.

It seems a bit ridiculous that this fine tuba has not sold yet. These are very, very nice tubas. I guess there are a lot of options in the $8k range these days... but this is a great tuba.
* The non-handmade models have a hand hammered bell and bottom bow
* The "handmade" Nirschls have that, plus the next 4 biggest pieces of tubing are handmade
So, all Nirschl tubas (even the "non-handmade" versions) still see an awful lot of hand-work and careful attention during construction. Again, I'm no expert... but the Nirschl tubas I've seen have all been of the very highest quality.
I don't know Noah, but I have talked to him a few times about his tuba -- easy to get ahold of him, quick and thoughtful responses, and just seems like a real nice guy. Someone buy his tuba, ok?

I played and recorded on a Nirschl 4/4 Model for about 10 years in the Dallas Wind Symphony. I thought it was a fine tuba in every way.
These horns are comparable in size to the Miraphone 129X models. The Miraphone looks bigger but I was surprised that my student's 1291 fit in the same flight case I used for the Nirschl.
Pitch is quite good and the response is what you are looking for from pedals to above the staff. These instruments compare well next to the original Yorks which they were modeled after, I've played them side by side.
Nirschls are a serious step up from any Chinese made instrument. Even the newer Nirschls have had some well-earned knocks.
I do not know this particular horn but I think this instrument will be as high a quality horn as you can buy for double the price. If you are serious about playing tuba, these are serious horns.

Bump for Noah, he's a great guy and tuba player--super easy to work with. I've played his Nirschl a couple times over the last year or so; it's a really solid horn!
