Hi,

I have a case I built to fly a York-made 1920's vintage Eb (20" bell about 31-33" in height) from Yankee=land to Florida for one gig about 3 years ago.

The case flew post 9/11 and made it through Delta's LWH and weight requirements at the time, as I built the case specifically to be just under those requirements.

The case is made out of 1/2" CDX plywood and weighs about 50lbs. There are some water stains on the outside of the plywood from basement storage. It was assembled with brass screws and steel L-brackets with corner guards. It has a collapsable steel handle on top with two fixed handles on the back. Their are two heavy-duty fixed wheels to move this thing around with.

From my own experience, this should also fit Besson 981 type tubas with a 19-20" bell, 31-33" height, and upright valves.

I want to sell this case fast, or else it goes up for sale at my garage sale this Saturday. Local sales preferred. The nearest Amtrak terminal is in Boston, so for me to get it there, I will have to charge an additional amount for my fuel only.

Price: $25

Again, local sales are preferred.

Add about $8 US worth of grey felt and some paint and you're darn close to having one of these. :)

Offer accepted! My York monster needs a travel case, and I need an excuse to drive to New England. I'll be in Bethlehem, PA, on 14 Aug, for TubaChristmas in August, and could possibly visit afterward to pick it up.
Please e-mail me.

Thanks,
Dean
