SOLD: c. 1920 Conn 4v BBb Raincatcher Sousaphone
SOLD
I am selling this for a friend.
Up for sale is a silver c.1920 Conn 4 valve BBb Raincatcher Sousaphone. The actual upright bell was missing on this horn, and the bell that was put on is from a NYC firefighter, an amateur tubist who had a 1920 upright Conn BBb tuba. My friend contacted the firefighter and he sold the original brass bell on his 1920 BBb upright tuba. So the horn has all original pieces. The bell is probably why this is such a superb player.
23” bell diameter. No bits included. Plays great, pistons in terrific condition. Model 36K? Can’t go wrong on this Raincatcher. SOLD
Tnx

Very nice, but I’m puzzled that imgur thought I needed to be over 18 to see the image. Trying to protect me from horn dorn?

Stranger still I can’t write “dorn”, the “p”turns into a “d”.....

I'm about $1200 short or else I'd be making arrangements to meet you in the Niagara Falls area! ...when the borders are open again, and maintaining social distancing of course! I wonder if I can play-test a sousaphone wearing a mask? (...and how the sousaphone ever put on a mask I'll never know!)bisontuba wrote:Price is now lowered to $2500 plus packing and shipping charges....

The three horns listed are out West and I am helping him out by selling them for him. He will pack and ship the horns to the buyer. BTW, the raincatcher, which I have played, is by far THE BEST raincatcher I have EVER played....
