FS: holton 340 Tuba

Post by thebandbarn »

I have a Holton 340 Tuba SN# 368264 that has been sitting in its case in my inventory for more than 3 years. Finally convinced the boss to let me put it on here so someone other than a school kid can get their hands on it.
This horn is very close to playing condition. It has a very small tear in the bell. The entire area with missing lacquer could be covered under a nickel. The first valve sticks slightly at the bottom when depressed. There is some wear on the valve plating on all 3 valves. There are various small dents and dings in the body and some wrinkling on the bell. Overall a great horn with very little work needed to turn it into a very nice horn. Not sure what the origins of this horn are, but there is a good chance it came from a high school here in Texas that had a lot of money. It comes with it's case in good and usable condition. I have plenty of pictures of this tuba and can send them upon request.
I am asking $3000 plus shipping for it. However, that is somewhat negotiable.
I am located in Lubbock, Texas and use a variety of different shipping companies and can always find a pretty good shipping price.

Is a 340 the same thing as a 345 only it 3 valves instead of 4?
